Candle Tips
This page will help you have a safe, burning candle, all the while increasing your burn time!
NEVER burn a candle unattended!
NEVER burn your candle in a drafty area
NEVER blow out a candle (this can spray wax!) Always use a candle snuffer.
NEVER move a burning candle, or one that has JUST been snuffed.
NEVER burn the candle farther than 1/2 inch from the bottom.
NEVER burn a candle with a wick that is close to the side of the container. This COULD start a fire, or cause your container to break.
ALWAYS keep the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch to prevent wick from flowering. This will also help you control soot. You shouldn't burn candles all day long without snuffing and trimming them when you notice the wick is getting long, or flowering. This is a sign that you need to TRIM your wick! :)
ALWAYS watch children and
pets around candles.
ALWAYS burn candles on a heat resistant surface.
ALWAYS burn candles at
least as many hours as they are in diameter. This will ensure an edge to
edge burn. Pillars should leave an outer shell.
